Most of the flagship smartphones these are coming with wireless charging feature need for which skyrocketed when Apple used it in their iPhones. Wireless charging capability can still be counted as a novelty feature but Apple did bet on it with the AirPower which didn’t see the light of the day.
This is where Mongda enters into the scene with their newest wireless charger which the company claims is a Fast charger and a safe on too. We got our hands on one of the units and here’s our review.

Starting with the design, the product is a little different when compared to other wireless chargers which have a sleek profile. Instead, the Mongda wireless charger is a little beefier and that is for a reason. The brand has put up a cooling fan under the phone resting pad which helps to dissipate the heat from both the wireless charger and your smartphone while charging.
Now we haven’t seen this solution implemented on any other wireless charger and can vouch for the difference it makes on the overall charging experience. When compared side by side to a wireless charger without a cooling fan, our test phone was a little warm to the touch.
When doing a 360 around the product, you get to see the mircoUSB port on the back which is a letdown and we would have loved a Type C port instead. You get a power brick bundled in the package which is a 24W unit and powers the wireless charger. Other than this, there is a status let on the top which lights up as soon as you place a compatible smartphone on the pad.
The wireless charger comes with overload protection, temperature sensor, under voltage regulators which helps with the performance. The output current varies with devices and the max output you get is 10W which is what most of the 2018 & 2019 flagship smartphone support. For other legacy devices, there is support for 5W and 7.5W charging option.
Mongda has optimized the product for both Android and iOS devices with the Samsung S10 fully taking advantage of the 10W charging speeds takes about 2 hours to fully charge, an iPhone X takes 2.5 hours to fully top up with the 7.5W output.
The one thing we didn’t like is the fact that the charging distance is so close, people using a thicker case on their smartphones won’t be able to charge with the case on and the only solution to this problem is to remove it every time you need to charge the smartphone.
- Functional Design
- Fast wireless charging
- Compatible with both Android and iOS devices
- Doesn’t works when a thick case is used on a smartphone
Verdict – Should you go for it?
The Mongda Fast wireless charger indeed holds up to the promises made by the brand and passed with flying colors in our tests. The charger comes loaded with a feature that will keep your device safe and cool. For the price of $45, this product is a very compelling deal but for people who snagged it for $29 while it was on Indiegogo, got a more sweeter deal.
