A few days back OnePlus unveiled the new logo for their OnePlus TV lineup which was followed by a string of leaks ranging from the TV sizes to the launch date. Today the company’s CEO Pete Lau has confirmed that the TV will launch in September, and India will be the first country to get it.
Lau said that OnePlus has been working on the product for close to 2 years now and can’t wait to see it in living rooms all over India. The product is slated to come bundled with OTT services but there is no official word on it at the moment. Speaking with Business Insider, he confirmed that the TVs will use 4K resolution quantum dot or “QLED” screen panels and run customized and optimized version of Google’s Android TV platform.
There is no exact date on the launch as of now, but some leaks suggest that the launch will take place on 26th September with sales starting in the month of October. The TV is slated to come in various sizes including a 43-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch 4K model and will be sold online via Amazon.
