[Exclusive] Here’s a close look at the OnePlus 8 Series

The new OnePlus 8 series launch is just right around the corner and the leaks have started pouring in. We have brought you all the hottest OnePlus leaks in the past and this time is no different.

Thanks to our ‘Source’ we now have a first look at the upcoming OnePlus smartphone series in full glory. The OnePlus 8 will come in three color variants, ‘Green’, ‘Black’ and ‘Interstellar Glow’. All three come in a glossy flavor with matte outer-rails. The ‘Interstellar Glow’ in particular seems exciting from the renders and will have to wait to check out how the colors come out in real life.

While the OnePlus 8 Pro will come in all pastel colors a ‘Blue’, ‘Green’ and standard ‘Black’. The models will have a silky smooth coating on the back glass with a matte finish. This smooth texture will almost be the same as seen on the OnePlus 7 series. OnePlus is also slated to throw a special edition case with the Pro model which will have a combination of faux leather and Alcantara on it.

You have a curved AMOLED display with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera in the corner on both the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. As per the source, the phone is running on the newest OxygenOS build with Android 10 at the base. There is a quad-camera setup on the back, with the ToF sensor added to the mix for OnePlus 8 Pro and a triple rear camera setup on the OnePlus 8.

OnePlus will be using the IMX 586 sensor from Sony here along with the Snapdragon 865 with up to 12GB of RAM. Going into deep on optics, the OnePlus 8 Pro will sport a 48MP main sensor with a 48MP ultra-wide, 8MP Telephoto and 5MP optical zoom. On the other hand, the smaller OnePlus 8 will have a 48MP main sensor with 16MP ultra-wide and 2MP depth sensor.

Both the models will go up to 12GB RAM DDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS3.0 storage. This new series will be an all 5G, even for the markets where there is no coverage. The newest and probably the most talked-about feature will be the 120Hz refresh rate display that OnePlus has already teased.

Apart from this, you would get a 6.78-inch HDR10+ AMOLED display on the OnePlus 8 Pro with the touted 120Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate. While the smaller OnePlus 8 will sport a 6.55-inch AMOLED HDR10+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate. Along with this the Pro model will have support for both wireless and reverse wireless charging that will be missing on the regular OnePlus 8 model.

Along with this, OnePlus will also be bringing a pair of Truly wireless earbuds and an updated version of the OnePlus Bullets. We will bring you more info on these products very soon.

The phones along with the audio accessories will go sale, sometime in the first week of May with a starting price of INR 44,990 for the OnePlus 8 and INR 59,990 for the OnePlus 8 Pro. These prices are still speculative and might change, so look out for more accurate prices in the next posts.
