Honor products that will be coming to India

Honor and Huawei are in deep waters since last year due to the ongoing US-China trade war. Though over the months, the US government has relaxed on some of the sanctions, the biggest hurdle for Huawei’s smartphone business has still not been resolved.

Honor and Huawei simply can’t use Google Services on their Android products, this means that no Google apps will be present on the product out of the box. This has severely affected the business for both the brands and their plans for certain markets.

While both the brands are doing well in certain markets, Indian growth has been stagnant over the last few quarters. Honor needs a revised approach for the Indian market and from what we’re hearing, some of the products planned to launch in the country could bring some change.

Honor 30 Pro

The company’s flagship product, made global debut early this year. While it is being sold in certain European markets, the launch plans for India took a hit with the lockdown. The Honor 30 Pro comes with a 6.57-inch FHD+ OLED curved display with a dual-punch hole on the corner. It is being powered by the all-new Kirin 990 5G SoC with 8GB RAM and 128/256GB of internal storage.

The phone shines in the optics department, as it comes with a 40MP camera with a Sony IMX600 sensor, 16MP ultra-wide camera, and 8MP periscope telephoto camera with up to 50x hybrid zoom on the back, while on the front, there is a combination of a 32MP and 8MP ultra-wide sensor. The phone comes with Android 10 with EMUI on top and Huawei Mobile service(HMS) out of the box.

Apart from this, you get all the goodies, a bigger 4,000mAh battery, 40W fast charging, NFC, IP54 rating, and more.

Honor Flypods Lite

These truly wireless earbuds have been in the market for a while and should make their Indian debut soon. They sport an AirPods like design but with a silicon ear-tip for a better fit. The earbuds themselves have a touch-sensitive area to play/pause tracks, take/end calls, etc. Flypods lite comes in three shades Black, White, and robin egg blue.

The earbuds themselves last 3 hours on a single charge with an additional 12 hours using the charging/storage case. The earphone could rival the Realme Buds Air and the newly launched Mi Wireless earphones 2 and should be priced similarly.

Honor MagicBook

Honor MagicBook series made its global debut with the Honor 30 series earlier this year. At the time of launch, Honor did release this in two sizes a 14-inch and 15-inch model sporting similar specifications.

The MagicBook series of products fit the Thin & Light category of notebooks that are on the rise in the market lately. They sport a plastic and aluminum shell with a nicely laid out keyboard and a big trackpad. Both the 14 and 15 models of the MagicBook are powered by the newer gen AMD Ryzen CPU’s and run Windows 10 out of the box.

Honor has had plans to bring the MagicBook series to India since last year and should be on sale within the next two months. As for the expected price, the 14-inch model could be priced closer to the INR 45k mark.

Honor Vision Smart TV

We saw a glimpse of the Honor Vision Smart TV at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2019. At the time of the reveal, the brand did tell us that the product could land in India as soon as Q1 2020, but that didn’t happen.

Now our source tells us that the launch could happen in Q3 this year. Honor Vision Smart TV comes with a 55-inch 4K display is powered by quad-core Honghu 818 SoC, coupled with a Mali-G51 GPU. The TV has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. The TV runs on Huawei’s HarmonyOS, instead of Android TV OS.

Honor is slated to announce the refresh to this model in China, next week, so we could essentially see the updated model to launch in the country rather than this 6 months old product. As for the expected price, the TV should be priced under INR 45k.

We will keep adding additional products as and when we get information about them from our sources. Honor is hosting an event in China next week with a bunch of devices planned to launch, ranging from smartwatches, TWS earbuds, Smart TVs, laptops, and more.

Stay tuned for updates!!
